This months recommended Wine - Malleolus!
This month, we recommend - for the evening meal of kings, "Malleolus", a wine of Bodegas Emilio Moro (Ribera del Duero), made from grapes from old vines, between 25 and 75. It is probably one of the noblest and most forceful expressions of the virtues of the grape Tinta del Pais.
The word Malleolus means 'vineyard' in Latin, a way of referring to Pesquera del Duero vineyards. Covered cherry in color with garnet rim. On the nose this wine is dominated by intense balsamic and aromatic woods. Equally outstanding species of mature black fruit and jam, coffee, tea and cocoa with mineral touches. The palate is powerful and concentrated very balanced and very tasty. For retronasal appear again the spicy, black fruit and aromatic woods. The palate is velvety with excellent integration between fruit and wood while maintaining a warm end.
We recommend decanting for about an hour before serving.
- Pairing: Sausages, grilled red meats, stews.
- Alcohol: 14.5%.
- Optimum serving temperature: 16ºC.
